My one-way was the same. What about the idlers? No, the starter can come out of the case with the pinion on, make sure to grease up the o-ring for it when you are putting it togehter.

Cam chain dropped where?

The stator wires have a plug up the frame a little bit, just under the plastic toward the front of the seat but I usually just turn the cover with the stator in it out of the way and rest it on the heelguard.

If you have the one-way or flywheel out the cam chain is right there but you will need access to the top and bottom to do anything with it. I assume you have the cover off?? But Do you have the cam out aswell??

I wouldnt do it much but you can use a socket to turn the crank backwards a little to free the chain, just hope you didnt damage it when you kinked it.

My timing chain dropped a couple of weeks back.....an old metal clothes hanger pulled it out with maybe an 1" 90 degree bend on the bottom. Pull the chain up and slowly rock the engine while in gear....the chain should roll right out.

I got it out with a coat hanger, is there only one gear holding the cam chain on the bottom end?
