yfz 450 uncomfortable????

I rode Juniors 450 this past weekend (if this is the same junior?). I only rode it for a few minutes, but my impression was that the seat feels hard when just sitting on it, but when riding it does not seem too bad. The engine pulls great in the upper rpm range, I quickly found out that you need to have the r's up like a two stroke.
Junior, looks like you made it home. Fun meeting and riding with you guys.

This is my opinion of the bike. I rode it this past weekend at Pismo and boy does it have power! I cruised it thru the dunes and I will tell you one thing, if your not doing 40 mph all the time it will beat you to death I would get one only because of the power and performance it puts in the mx and drag field only. I wouldnt buy it for trailing at all cuz it is way uncomfortable and the steering is jerking you every where if your not going over 40 mph in the dunes that has been trailed with trucks and jeeps. But lets say you are, then its a perfect bike the shocks are giving you a perfect ride over anything that I came across. You can easily catch some 5 ft air without hardly getting on the throttle on a nice small jump.
like I said, this is just my opinion.

I trail rode mine all weekend here in Minnesota. Sunday at Chengwatonna State forest I rode from 10am till 5pm on some very rocky trails, sand, grass, and rocky dried river bottom. I even did a couple small river crossings (Rock filled). I softened up the suspension to almost the full soft settings, as I never do mx style jumps, and it handled everything fine. Yesterday (Monday) we rode it around in the woods for a few hours running over roots and rocks and ruts, with no problems or complaints.
I think these guys complaining about the seat/suspension should by a 500 HO or something!

Rode one for just a couple of minutes at St Anthony yesterday. I was too busy sliding and jumping and wheelying to notice the seat. Confuscious say, Big smile make up for sore ***.

The quad is very good. But I wouldnt trade my Rappy in for one. The reason I say this because of the type of riding I do. Mostly Dunes in the winter and woods riding in the summer. JMO

I had the same impression as Bronson. The only plus I saw to the bike was its good suspension (which is rough as hell at lower speeds) and the low center of gravity. Other than that, it was nothing more than you would expect a 450 to be. I wouldn't trade my raptor for one I guarantee you.

If you are 6' or more tall, the bars have too much sweep and not enough rise. Here are some pictures of how we have been addressing the uncomfortable problem:
Before
After
We have been riding Florence/Winchester Bay and have every good sport quad ready to ride (including the Z400
0). Needless to say, the prefered mount was the YFZ.
If you are just putting in the sand get a Z400, it has a nice soft seat and is very easy to ride.
If you want to go fast and not feel like you might flip the quad at any time, get the YFZ. The YFZ is rack stable at high speeds in corners and on the bumps.
