Default Rejetting with no airbox

2002 Raptor, stock, full yosh, mains 160/165, a/f screws 2.5/2.75, pilot 25, clip 3rd from top, no lid, 500ft.
Runs great with this setup and also when using EHS lid. I have now removed the air box completely, suggestions on changing anything before putting it all back together.

I would put in 165/170 mains at least 167.5/ 172.5 might even be better.

Thanks sixsixT

I'm using the 2 into 1 K&N filter, pro design adapter plate, and just the front of the stock airbox. I bought 170/175's, so tad lean with 165/170, tad rich with 170/175? I know you like to run alittle rich, so do I. Oh by the way, Mikuni jets.

Well.... every quad is a little different. I was running 170/175 when I first put my adapter on but I've done a few mods to my carbs. You could start there and go down if you need to, that's a better way of doing it anyway.

Thanks Again sixsixT

One more question, pro's and con's between the 2 into 1 K&N and 2 seperate filters like you run. I'm just using the 2 into 1 because that's what I was running prior to this project.

There's alot more filter area with the duals and I was able to put a nicer radius on the inlet to the adapter with the larger diameter flange of the dual filter.

Update, went with 165/170, took out the starter plunger (choke) of the carb, with throttle cable still attached flipped them over, rejetted. Started it, high idle, when choke is pulled starts sputtering and dies out. Adjusted the idle via the adjustment nut, the 8mm sleeve adjustment at the end of the cable by the carb. Idle's good now, but choke rev's up when engaged 1/4 of the way then dies out.

Did valve adjustment prior to this, did not run it between the valve adjustment and the jetting. Right now I can take hold of the choke cable where the bend is before it goes into the carb and pull it in and out, so the spring is working. Should I be able to just pull the cable between the adjustment nut and where it straightens out going into the carb in and out like that? Plunger, o-ring, spring all look good, also lubed it up.

Rode it 1st-3rd on street , runs great, strong, but come to stop put choke on 1/4-1/2 and it dies.
Also blipping or whicking the throttle, great response, holding throttle anywhere from idle to full, no cutting out or bogging.

And I did go from open airbox to no airbox, pretty much what sixsixT has or the raptor adaptor.
Thanks for the help.

You don't want to adjust the idle using the sleeve. Adjust the sleeve so you have a little bit of play in the throttle/cable and adjust the idle with the thumb screw on the side of the carb.
You may be a tad rich on your idle mix but if it's running good I wouldn't worry about the choke killing the engine too much.

Thanks for all the information, went with the 165/170, 25 pilot, the pilot which I've been running for some time, didn't do the proper plug chop, let it idle rode alittle on the street, pulled the new plug, was sooty black, could wipe it off with my finger, also alittle black smoke out the exhaust wicking the throttle. Should there be any smoke at all white or black. I just went back to 160/165 to see what it would do, also. the problem I had with the idle or choke, or I should say, the enrichiner is solved, don't operate the lever in warm weather or when the engine is warmed up.
