I would buy another. No problems here with my 01 that were not the owners fault.

The same kind that is in my quad now. Hotcam stage 1. I happened to be one of the first that used a cam from a bad batch that slipped by. The company was top notched and never accused me of anything. They investigated found the cause, fixed it and their cams from that production, payed for all charges to fix my quad and gave me a free cam for my troubles. That was the very first engine mod I did and should have taken it as a omen. There has been lots of fun on the faster quad but there has been plenty of down time because of engine mods also. Some fair better than others when it comes to modding their quads. It can be fun working on them to but, I'd rather be adding a go fast part instead of fixing a go fast part.

I had the timing sprocket come loose after I put a cam in, it destroyed my head cover and bent a valve
ironically you can't buy a head cover seperate from the head from yamaha. Had a wiseco piston seize and JE cracked. no tranny or one way failures yet (knock on wood)

Yes I would buy another one but I'd buy the YFZ first

I'm with McFly, no way in hell I'm giving up my Beast now that I've got it just how I like it. That said, it might be fun to race in two classes:-)

I ride my Raptor hard and except for the stock carbs being finicky with race gas, I've never had a problem. Even after going into the engine, it's been extremely reliable (thanks Craycraft!!).
