IS ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEM .I'M TALKING ABOUT FAIRLY STOCK ONES TOO NO MONSTER 800CC RAPTORS PLEASE .AND WOULD U BUY IT AGAIN

 

HAD THE CLUTCH BURN UP RECENTLY. HAVE REPLACED THE BEARING CARRIER FOR THE AXLE, THE SEAL WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE BEARINGS SEIZED UP. ALSO, THE ONE WAY STARTER BEARING GAVE OUT, MADE A REPAIR WITH AN O-RING, WORKS GREAT NOW. REAR BRAKE PADS REPLACED. THAT'S ABOUT IT....MINE IS A 2001 WITH THREE SEASONS OF MODERATE/HARD RIDING....I LOVE IT AND WOULD BUY ANOTHER....HOWEVER, I MAY GIVE IT AN OVERHAUL/MAKEOVER THIS WINTER AND GIVE IT ANOTHER THREE SEASONS....

YES, THE RAPTOR IS A GREAT MACHINE IN STOCK FORM AND MY LITTLE SISTER AND GIRLFRIEND CAN EVEN RIDE IT....THEY LIKE TO WHEELIE SO BE CAREFULL!

 

I bought mine in January of 2001. It's been perfect for me since new. Both in stock form, and in it's current 727 form. Zero mechanical failures. I'd definately buy another one.

 

any idea on what i would get if i traded my warrior 01

 

I have an 02 and it runs great but i heard of the 01's having problems. I would definatly get another one.

 

Lets see,

1. 2nd gear grenaded the transmission.
2. Bent valve due to defective aftermarket cam. Not the quads fault. Fixed for free.
3. Rod failure, broken cases, new crank, cases, cylinder, piston, assorted odds and ends inside motor.
4. Swing arm pivot bolt broke, noticed earlier in the same day that the rod blew up.
5. Replaced axle bearings and seals.
6. Oil tank gets cracks in it. Fixed each one. Some more than once. LOL.
7. One way starter bearing failure.
8. Piston failure JE, this past weekend.

None of these things happened until I went beyond piped and jetted. Would I buy another? Yes, I have already bought 2 more. One physical quad and one more in repair bills. Would I buy another Raptor today? Yes, If the YFZ wasn't available.

 

sounds like its just the 01's actin up

 

When I bought my 01 last year it needed work, Now that I can fix them, Sure I would buy another one.
