Personnaly I love the 685 cam in all areas and 14mins is right; they love the extra fuel flow though. You can get your stock carbs. to flow more fuel with some modifications and one of the main things you will need to do is modify the needle jets to allow more fuel flow into the carbs because no matter how big you go on your mains; the stock or dynojet needles will only allow so much fuel past them. This along with some other slight modifications will get you more fuel. Slim

Slim, Have you ever ran a Stage II? If so how much lowend did ya lose? I have a stage II and a 12:1 JE now and how much work would I have to do to the head to get it to fit? and I 'm guessing you don't have to fly cut the piston.
BTW what type of riding do you use this beast for?

LOWBOWTIE, I mainly drag race right now but When it gets cold I put it back in trail mode on go. Before the 685 I had the 696/697, 736/737 and I have a couple of friend who have had the stage II and Sparks high rev and I prefer the 685 out of all of them. One thing I will say I loved to trail ride with the 736/737; I really enjoyed the cam but was lacking the top end performance I needed to hang with the Sparks cams at the drags. My next choice of cams as far as drag racing would be the Sparks Hi rev; the Sparks has killer top end but lacks low end with a smaller motor. If I was only trail riding I prefer the 736/737 over all of the others mentioned. When I went to the 685 I did notice a little loss in bottom but not enough to concern me. The top end pull of the 685 made up for it and then some. Slim
