Thanks. On dirt the swingarm isn't too bad, Sandfest will be the first time to have it in the sand with the nitrous. I don't know if the 'ol edges will stand up. What paddles are you running?

WallStreet, I've never been on the sand with mine. We dont have any sand near us unless we want to drive some hours. Maybe i'll get to make a trip to a big sand event one day. Slim

Gotcha, if you get the time and energy you should come to Waynoka, OK. Great time. What length are you running and what gearing? Thanks

Slim- how many raptors are in your usual riding group?? Did you machine down all your valve guides or just the intakes when you went to the 685 cam??

Slim may be one of the fastest 686's on here for those that don't know.

We are running the asphalt 1/8th mile with 15/39 15/38 gear. Best time so far is in the 7.5's 87 mph both 727's on just race fuel have run this ; hoping to improve. I'm hoping my 686 will run quicker but I've only taken it once and I had a srew come out of the top of the carburetor cap that holds the slide in so it fell on its face and wouldnt hardly run. I'm hoping to take off of work this Sunday and go but we'll see. Slim

Whats up 14mins, We had about 7 Raptors that raced with us but a few of the guys sold out to Banshees. Now we have three that we run on the asphalt. 14mins I actually got by without machining down either. The clearances were close(very close) but I got by and have not had any problems. Oh by the way; thanks for the compliment!!! Slim

This is what I was looking for ! They say you might have to but just like anything else everyone of these damn things (Raptors) are a little different from each other.

It means very little. You should always check clearences. I have yet to see a stage 2 need to have the center valve guide ground down.
