Default Pro Design with K&N question

I have question that i think i know the answer to, but need confirmation.
I am running the stock replacement K&N filter in my Raptor. I dont like the fit as it doesnt seal very well (same as stock). Most people use the Dro design adapter plate system which works well. Ive looked at pictures of the product on the web. My questions is can I order just the plates, and attach my existing K&N filter, or do I have to buy the complete kit including the filter. In the pics Ive seen, the filter has part of the adapter attached. Is that part of the filter? or do you install it into the stock K&N replacement filter?
I want to order the setup but need to know wether to order just the plates, or wether I have to order the complete kit as I suspect.

Thanks for the help!

Complete kit. They are two very different filters. The new filter clamps on the 2 holes of the adapter plate with hose clamps.

PS. If you haven't already, remove all the flanges on the inside of the air box and the lid if you use it. Anything that will come in contact with the filter and rub a hole in it.
