raptor vs. predator

Did you change the clip position onthe needle? LIke I said, I can't tell you what jets or what position but I can give you an idea of what to do. Anyway, if you have to rejet your bike, which you will most likely have to do, it would be advantageous to you to remove your airbox lid, get an outerwear filter cover for your filter, and rejet your bike with airbox lid off and keep it off. This will help your bike make more power too. IF you have some money, get the k&n pro-flow kit. It has an aluminum adapter that mounts a k&n filter to your airbox. It works good and really well with airbox lid off too. I know that with my yoshi, proflow kit and new jetting, my bike vs a stock raptor would smoke the crap out of him all the way through the powerband. At top speed I would have like 6 or so on him and still pulling (because his top speed was slower than mine

At this point in the game it is not needed no, but you will be able to utilize it in the future if you go into your motor. I had a header pipe and muffler from Yoshi with the proflow kit and jet kit. I had a local shop jet it. The bike ran perfect, power was improved everywhere in the rpm band. It was jetted on the leaner side to make more power, but not so lean that it detonated and hurt performance. The thing hauled to me anyway, and I was impressed with the power and even more impressed when I raced a new stock Raptor. Anyway, if I was you I would do the proflow kit, remove the airbox lid, and rejet. I would post a new topic asking something like "Jetting for slip on, proflow kit, and no air lid" and then the more knowledgable people than I should chime in on the subject.

I just wanted to add my two cents to try and cancel out the nonsense about stock Predators beating stock Raptors. Something is seriously wrong with the Raptor that gets outrun by a Predator! I weigh 250 lbs and have NEVER had a problem laying the smackdown on a Predator with any size rider on it. My Raptor is about as stock as stock can be, and it pulls away nicely from Predators on the oval track after I finish two wheeling through the corners, lol.

Glad to hear your input, also , whats up with your car? Sounds cool. I have an 88GT myself. There is also a nice 331 with AFR 185's sitting in my room next to me waiting to go in one of these days

Most new drag racers change gears wrong. With a stock Raptor you should never run it higher than 6500 RPM before changing. With mods, its differant. You need to see where your rappy makes most power, and change it just after it reach those RPM's.
