I wouldn't have the head shaved, it creates slack in the timing chain which can lead to problems.

Yah, No reason to shave the head. It will also create additional compression. If 11:1 isn't enough compression just get a 12:1 but don't shave the head just to get a few tenths of compression.

Well, I'd like to help you guys out on the Sparks Craycraft deal, However, my father and uncles sparks' bikes are 4.5 months overdue, but are supposed to be arriving in a week or two. As for my bike, Craycraft 686, fcr's, port, polish, stage two hotcam, It runs exceptionally well. My dad said if he knew it was going to run that good he would have went craycraft as well. Hopefully I will be able to give you guys an update in about a month or so. Craycraft took about two weeks. Very impressed, great customer service.

Just my .02 worth. I have the 690 kit and it works great in Trail, Dunes and drags. Wouldnt go with anyone else only because I like the work and have not had any complaints what so ever from anyone that has had Sparks work on them. I was at Pismo Labor Day weekend and got nothing but compliments on how my bike ran on the drags. I know the waiting time is long but just like the work they do. I just wish they could hire a few more employees to speed up the process and have more business.

Hey Raptor Owner,
Me and 250forlife will be at Pismo the 20th for the weekend. Would like to meet you and see what Curtis did to your bike. We will be at mile post 4 towards the Dunes, Blue Dodge, Weekend Warrior, and Sparks stickers on both.

I am actually going this Weekend with a few more Sparks Raptors and 400ex's and believe there will be about 8 Good running Sparks bikes there. I will see what I can do for that weekend if I dont see you this weekend.

I dont personally believe you have to have a bigger bore (like 727,770...) to be competitive. I have a 686 on gas and i run right with the best of them!

bad350twin - Yes you are correct! I raced a DS720 and came out ahead everytime. Its the porting that makes the motor.
