Opinions on Warrior mods
#1
I have a Yamaha Warrior and I want to set it up for trails and maybe for a small track to race where you dont get out of 3rd or 4th gear. Anyways I am going to be putting R4 exhaust, JE 11:1 piston, Web Cam, Titanium valves, K+N filter with outerwears, K+N jet kit, DG front frame guard, DG Baja full chasis and a-arm skid plate, shaved flywheel, DG nerfbars, and Banshee eye headlight covers. Do you think this will be a good set up for trails and track giving me more lowend and midrange power? I dont want to invest a fortune, and if I race it will only be in the D class, let me know if it will be good for what I want to go, mainly trail riding, I doubt I will race with it, If I race Ill buy a YFZ450 or something, anayways would these be good mods to do fo lowend and midrange power for trails?
I already have DG front bumper, DG rear grab bar, and Maxxis Razr tires, 22 front and 20 back, and DG Baja swingarm skidplate.
Also I have the R4 too

here is what i would do. drop a tooth on the front sprocket and go up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket. this will allow you to pull very hard and if you only plan on staying in 3rd or 4th gear you can lower the gear ratio even more. next find a good low-mid pipe, i have no experience with the R4 but i am sure it is a good system. next thing to do is to get an oil cooler, because even if you have all of that horsepower once you get that motor running the higher compression it is going to run very hot and you are going to dog around the track or trail, also i would run 100 octane gas with this setup just to run a little cooler and also a lead additive. next i would go with the alba kit which comes with the .450 lift cam titanium springs retainers and i believe it is a 10.75:1 JE piston. i know this is a rather high lifting cam but as long as you keep the motor in the sweet spot it will pull like a freight train. i am not sure if anybody makes titanium valves but i would have a shop do a 3 angle valve job on it if you can. next i would put the pro flow intake on and get it jetted to perfection. as for the headlight covers and skids and everything, they are good to have but i would just put that money towards head porting if i were you. another good thing to do would be to put a dyna cdi box on it. with this type of setup you will be competitive with most stock bore 400ex's, well as far as engine handling is a whole different story though. good luck man any questions on anything let me know i have setup a lot of these warrior and a lot of HP can be had with the right tuner and setup believe me

jakalwarrior how do think the .450 lift cam with titanium springs and retainers the alba high comp. piston kit and a good exhaust would perform. i do not plan on porting my head or swapping out the valves so how do you think it would run. i would think that i would have to jet so rich on the main that at the lower rpm's it would foul plugs like crazy.

Let me know if this would be a good set up for trails and racing:
-Alba cam and spring kit, including JE racing piston
-R4 exhaust
-380 kit
-Titanium valves
-K+N filter with outerwears
-K+N jet kit
-Port and polish
-Dyna CDI box
-3 angle valve job (maybe)
-Pro flow intake
-Alba grahpics kit
-Baja A-arms and full chasis skid (for trails)
-Durablue wheel spacers
-Barnett heavy duty racing clutch springs
-Drop 1 tooth in the front sprocket, go up two teeth in the rear sprocket
-Elka piggyback shocks
-Shaved flywheel
Let me know what you think and how it will perform for racing and trail riding
Also can somebody here give me a rough estimate of how much it would cost to buy all the stuff etc. Also give me another price for the installation of the 380 kit and porting and polishing. I think I can do everything except the porting and polishing, my dads friend went to school for small engines repair and fixes quads and everything with engines for a living, let me know if you think me, my dad, and his friend could install everything, except the porting and polishing. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ESTIMATES!

you dont need the cdi and shaved flywheel unless your drag racing. You have any idea how much money all that suff you listed is thats goin to cost? My guess is atleast 2.5 - 3 grand. Could buy a used 250r or something. As for the top end having such a big jet the bottom end fouls out, nah, most of the other people who got the kit said they had to richen up the idle one turn. Mines wierd though, I think the enricher is messed up and feeding the bottom end too much gas so its running with idle fuel screw all the way in and needle one above middle.
