Hi all i am thinking of buying a 2000 beartracker and was wondering about there relibialty?
My best friend had a 96 timberwolf and had lots of problems with the brakes, and also he had to replace the rear "pumpkin" 4 times.
Now i do know it was riddien kind of hard but to you guys think that i would have lots of problems because i love riding in mud and water???
Thanks,
Josh

if u like mud the bear tracker isnt for u because my friend has one and he gets stuck in everymudwhole

save ur money alittle more and go with the bigbear if u dont want a 4x4
but if u have enough money i would get the bigbear4x4 or the rancher4x4

I'm not sure about the reliability specifically for the beartracker, but Yamaha overall seems to enjoy a decent reputation for reliability.

I have had the opportunity to play on a Beartracker and I thought it was a very fun machine. You also might want to check out the Honda Recon if your not too big of a guy, I've never ridden one but I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I have a 2000 beartracker and i think its great. Mine gets ridden hard, and i havent had any problems yet. I ride in a lot of water and mud, and i dont have any problems getting stuck. I think the "getting stuck" factor is mostly up to the rider and his abilities. Its just as competent in the mud as any other 2wd. So far in the last year i have had nothing wear out. Never broke down, not one flat tire. (even ridden though a mostly fallen down barb wire fence one time, and still only one minor scratch on the plastic) Its overall reliability is great, just change oil every once in a while, fill the tank and head out.
