If you've got the money to build it, you should have the money set aside to "fix it faster" when things break. Increasing power is only going to uncover the next weak link - clutch, suspension, tires, etc.
Now that I know how much more power is available with a good 686 build (Craycraft!), there is no way I'd be satisfied with a bolt-on engine. I traded rides with a guy on a bolt-on Raptor and didn't even finish a lap. He, on the other hand, didn't want to get off my quad:-)
