My g/f and I both use O'Neal Element ATV boots.
They offer a cleated sole as well as good support but with decent movement.
They've saved my ankles both times I have worn them(I just got them).
I got em retail for like 120 through Dennis Kirk.....but you can def find em cheaper.
If I remember right they are made by Sidi as well.

AXO RC5. $200 (you can get them from Bob's sometimes for $150 - http://www.bobscycle.com/aug03.promo.html ). Excellent boot at $200. Unbelievable boot at $150. Replaceable sole piece, replaceable aluminum buckles, very comfy.

Gaerne balanced leather boots with ATV tread are the most comfortable in my opinion. They do not offer quite as much ankle support though as some of the others. These are trials boots so they are really flexible. I wouldn't race MX in them but hare scrambles and trail riding is great.
I wear Alpinestar Tech 4 with ATV tread. The buckles are harder than he!! to buckle and pop loose all the time. I am staying strong though but will be going back to my MSRs if they don't change soon.
