Two for One Question

I finally got my Raptor togther tonight. When trying to start and battery charger on. The relay just buzzes. I finally turned over a couple times and just starts buzzing again. Connections are clean. Any ideas. And next.
My buddy has a 400ex that was riding and went between a couple boulders and hit them on each side hard. Bike died started once and will no longer start. Has spark(new stator) fuel and compression and air. Could the timing jumped. My timing gun broke so I couldn't check it. Any ideas here.
I know this is a lot but Thanks for any info.

Check and clean the connection above the front sprocket. The wire that goes to the case on that side. Thats the ground. Bad connection = similar problems your having. Have you checked the battery with a volt meter?

I will check it tomorrow. I just got it togther, tried starting it. Checked the connections and put the charger on the battery and tried to start it. Still just buzzed. I will check the ground. I quit working on it and started on the 400. We are trying to get these going for our LS trip this weekend.

Put the probes from a volt meter on the battery terminals. You should have 12.9 or somewhere in the upper 12's. If less than 12 it's questionable. Then try to start it and see what kind of reading you get. It may say 12 until you try and start it. Jump start it from your buddys 400. If it still buzzes the relay could be bad. I'd double check all electrical connections you took apart before accusing the relay of being bad.

Checked wiring, swaped batterys. Turned motor over with socket. Cranked and fired and started very fast. Ran for about a minute, then shut off, sounded rough. Probably due to new and sitting. Now relay just clicks and the starter is very hot. Motor is hard to turn over with socket but will turn over. Could the starter be messed. Or something else.

My raptor lost connection at one point like yours. it would buzz and then click off and my green neutral light would go off. I found out that pushing the red wire, that comes off the battery, towards your plastics reconnects it somehow. I don't know what is wrong, but it works.

Its probably the one-way bearing has exploded...mine did the same...the starter is getting so hot because it continues to draw heavier amounts of amps when there is resistance
test the relay by "crossing" it...using insulated pliers touch the two nuts(key and switch on)did anything happen?
As for the EX timing couldn't have "jumped" have you tested all the elec
It has spark at the plug?
