Default Needle and emulsion tube question

Back to the never ending stock carbs mods. Has anyone ever figured out at what point the stock needle and emulsion tube become the fuel restriction?

Just guessing but I would say around a 200 size mikuni jet would be max maybe a little bigger.

Default Needle and emulsion tube question

For those interested, I did the measuring today. Any main jet with an orifice .070" or greater will be useless with the stock needle and emulsion tube/needle jet. The cross sectional area of the Mikuni needle and needle jet will not flow more than a .070 orificed main jet.

What size does .070 " convert to in Mikuni main jet sizes? I'm fighting my stocker also. Raptoraz PM me and we can discuss mods done. I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours!

I'll tell you what size that converts to later this evening. I'm gonna hit the Yammy dealer after work with my pin gauges.

A .070" orifice converts to roughly a 165 Mikuni main jet.
