Carbon Fiber wheels again... +HELP all over.
#1
Ive searched the site, and the carbon fiber wheel info is sorta slim.... Ive got 2 mildly bent front wheels that I have been riding on for some time now, and because I could go for some new tires too I was considering the carbons..... problem is, there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of us running them and I dont want to buy from a company the may or may not be around for that long because of lack of sales. I think they sound like a great idea, Ive only been riding now for 6 months, started out only trail riding, and the went to bigger things... which led to a shoulder dislocation! BUT Im back on again 3 weeks later at the MX track for a first try and Im hooked! It was so much fun jumping although I have lost a good bit of nerve and am starting off small.
ARE THESE things going to be worth it???? I was going to order a set of holeshots and carbon wheels for the front, and keep running the stock wheels in the back with a new set of meats on them untill I can afford back wheels too. I am currently pleased with the power my raptor has to offer, but Im sure I will out grow that before too long and will have to get a pipe and filter. I do have a +2 durablue eliminator axle on it that replaced the bent stocker, added a lot of stability.
Any other info some of you experienced riders can offer would be great, especially on jumping. Im not sure what Ive got going wrong, I weigh 158, and landing on all 4s, it seemed to bottom out a lot sometimes.... Im thinking I was getting more air than distance because I would always let off the throttle coming up the ramp and the blip the throtle at the lip, that loads the suspension right? which kinda makes the bike jump, sorta, maybe?? anyways, like I said, Im new at this whole thing and could use a few pointers, to say the least. thanks a lot ahead of time guys, and girls. There was one at rausch creek this past sunday that was landing triples left and right, and cute too!
