Default K&N vs. Uni Filter

Is there any difference performance wise?

Which is easier to clean?

Do either have to be oiled?

When used with a clamp-on adapter like the Warrior / Wolverine use, is one better than the other?

You makes a good quality high flow aluminuim flange for the airbox that uses a clamp on foam filter for the Banshee?

Speaking strictly of performance, without getting into which is the better FILTER, I would have to say that you would not notice much of a difference.

I had a completely stock '01 Banshee with a stock (and extremely dirty) filter, and my neighbor had a Stock '01 Banshee with a K&N filter. Mine was faster....not sure why. We run the same gas/oil mix. My tires were 20" and his were 22" the first few times we raced...I was faster acceleration AND top end. I put on 22" tires a couple weeks later and the results were exactly the same.

Hey guys, I appreciate the replies.

From what I've read, I think I am going to go with the Noss (nossmachine.com) Super Flow air box kit, with a Uni Filter. The price is right, and since I do ride in dusty conditions, I think I'll go with the foam.

I thought the nossmachine.com flange was for a K&N filter and not a Uni-Foam? Note they are not interchangeable, do they or will they make one for the foam?

I use K&N in real dusty conditions with pre filter, boots, carbs, intake manifolds are sparkly clean, you still oil the K&N which catches the dirt, try both make your own decision.

Noss has both for the Warrior / Wolv.

I did not realize you oiled the K&N's.

You can buy the air filter cleaner, which you spray on let set for 10 minutes and spray out with water. Then spray the oil which is red, coat the entire filter and you're good to go.

Hiram why are you going with a foam filter?
Anyways I heard the vitos flange flows more compared to a pro design is this true for banshees?

K&N is good, but they say not to use one if you are going to be going through mudd, or there will be lots of dust. The K&N is also very expensive. You can still use one if you wish with dust, but remember to buy a K&N sock for it aswell. If you don't want to go that route, then i would strongly suggest Twin Air air filter. I had one for my warrior, and it worked great. Plus they are really cheap in price. Also one thing you will have to remeber, is any filter that you own you will need to oil it, people say that some you don't have to but you read in your manual and it will say you do, or you should.
