Scary, The fella that had my rappy before me had a 15 tooth on it. It would pull the gearing, but man that thing would just go Foooreever in 1st and 2nd. Especially on the 01's it scared me to be going from 1st to 2nd so much, so I went back to stock(13t) and that helped, but I still wasn't pulling as strong out of tight corners like I wanted. After I went to the 12t, man it helps alot! I can get the rear wheels to light up much easier now in the tight stuff allowing me to get her broadside around the corners much better. Anyway, in my opinion, the only thing that the 14/15t sprockets are good for is if your riding in Wiiiidddee open spaces. ie: large flats, fire roads, etc. Other than that I wouldn't stray much from the 13/12t. On second thought though you've done quite a few more mods to yours, so maybe yours will pull the gearing better than mine? Good luck either way.

I'll tell ya dollarbillz, either My rappy just doesn't have enough gumption, or my turf tamers are getting mad traction cause I can't get my tires to break loose on hard pack starts even with the 12t front. I have to slip the clutch pretty good when coming off the line. All I've got is 20" rears. I don't think that should be enough tire to keep em' from turning over.

DollarBillz got it right for sure. The problem is, the majority of riders wont /dont do what is necessary for a 2nd gear holeshot..... trust it and dump it. My Raptor is completely stock internally. But with the pipe and ProFlow and correct jetting, its a rocket on drags with a 2nd gear start ( Razr's) . However, another problem is the suspension setup. If you are stock width and heigth, it probably isnt as easy. If your quad sits a few inches lower, you can hammer outta the hole pretty easy.
My first competition drag was a few weeks ago. 300 Ft. dirt drag. Took 3rd place overall This was against Cannondale Speeds, YFZ's, other Raptors, 440's and so on. After each drag, people were just shaking their heads in disbelief, doubting that I was basically stock haha. In a warmup match before the races, my Raptor was staged against a Predator and the Raptor embarassed it by 10 lengths in 300ft. ( no lie) That guy also came past shaking his head after. The same thing against the other Raptors that were there, it wasnt even close. Top 3 finishers were Cannondale Speed, Cannondale Speed, My Raptor. (4 stroke class) (Damn Dales run fast in 300ft. grrr)
Anyways, I attribute the ENTIRE good results, to the start. My Raptor is 4 inches lower front and back, and 4 inches wider all around. I had semi-new Razr's, and the start was Full Throttle dump in 2nd gear. Slight tire spin and then hold on.
So, I would play around and practice your starts in 2nd gear. Get on some loose stuff, and practice and work your way to the hardpack. But if you cant nail it, dont worry. You can get pretty good starts feathering the clutch out too, just takes alot of practice to get it perfect.
Get your stance lower, and it gets much easier. Good luck.
