can atv's actually be banned?

Personally, I don't think they'll get banned, the sport is too big now. There are so many people who own and ride ATV's, ( I've read in the state of PA, 1 out of every 30 people own an ATV!). That means the law makers who want to keep there jobs in Washington know their votes are coming from "John the Atv rider" I'm sure the major manufacturers have lobbyist's in their pockets just to prevent such a thing.
I think the reason you hear of the bans is these "do-gooder" groups who would like to get anything that seems fun stopped. Down hill skiing killed Sonny Bono and a Kennedy, and how many thousands more, but no ban there. Because alot of rich people like to ski...ever been to Sun Valley Idaho? the rich have these political lobbyist's in their pockets and they control what's get banned or not. ( I have nothing against skiing, first thing off the top of my head)
I think there should be an amendment in the constitution that goes something like " thall shall have the right to ride all-terrain vehicles"

i think you mean amendment. ooh, that gives me an idea, lol, what if instead of it being a constitutional right, it was really the 11th commandment, like you know, in the bible and stuff. haha, atv riding is a god given right!
(sorry if thats really what you meant, instead of amendment)

nothing in particular. But every once in a while i read in a magazine about how there are organizations fighting like crazy to keep atv's alive and how we should do everything we can to support them because there are many people that would love to see them gone. I guess with all this great stuff happening in the atv world, im just a little concerned its too good to be true and will be taken away from us in the future.

I don't think they'll ever ban atv's. The military, beach lifegaurds, police and border patrols among others are all using atv's more and more. Why would they use a product that is so unsafe? There is alot of money to be made from the atv industry and the flies are flying to the dung like a lawyer chases an ambulance. (Huh?) Ok, I just think they are going to try to find ways to squeeze every cent out of atv's in the form of taxes, registering, riding fees or whatever else they can think up. People will pay whatever they dream up because they'll be happy the atv's just were not banned. They will aim for a ban and settle for more control and $$$.
I've seen- Polaris in military, Honda's & Yamaha Beartrackers with lifegaurds, Honda's with police, Yamaha Warriors with the border patrols.
