can atv's actually be banned?

plain and simple. theres more of them. atvs are a much easier target. its not fair, but they know that theres too many motorcyclists to even think of trying to ban them, they know they wouldnt win. but atvs are a lot newer and theres less of us, they have a much better chance of banning atvs. what does that mean? it means we need more riders! encourage everyone you know to get involved to help the atv industry grow and then they'll never stand a chance!

ATV or quad has been made into a bad name for the press to condemn. I remember watching the news last summer and they had a helicopter following an atv rider. The guy was just riding through an old coal area. The news people were commenting on how unsafe atv's are and how fast he was driving. It must have been a slow news week. The problem is that people are gullible. They see the news and say:"Oh that's so unsafe, he should be stopped." An example of how people are gullible- Recently, I was talking to some blue haired gossipy woman. They informed me that someone was tearing up a local graveyard with a quad. I drove over to see the damage and of course there was none. But there were tracks pressed into the grass from a motorcycle. The first thing people think is atv.

I live in michigan and there aint all that many places to ride quads but the thing that always got me was, motercyles with two tires and over 125 cc,s can ride on the highway. why cant 4 wheelers if a quad had turn signals and all running lights it would be safer than a motercycle. i was riding my friends cbr last year and the front tire blew at 50 and WHOA WHAT A RIDE !. then earlier this week i blew the front right tire on my quad in a hard turn on the pavment and the only thing that happend was the rim was scratched. i think the D.M.V should relook at the value of a quad. if we could ride our banshee or our sportsman to work then we wouold save gas not gte stuck in the snow and have a enjoyable ride to and from work in all weather.

yeah, going 60 is too fast in the middle of nowhere, but the dont have shots of motorcycles doing 110 through traffic. o well, if they take away quads, ill make it a point to make my motorcycle as loud and obnoxious as possible.

lol warrior86. yah, i think that atvs are too big to get rid of now, if they were to get rid of them, they would get rid of millions of peoples jobs: television shows possibly, magazines possibly, atv assemblers, possibly some aftermarket parts companies. They would screw lots of people over by getting rid of peoples jobs. what a bunch of treehumping idiots.

Outlawing ATV's won't stop most of us from riding. And if they stop making them, how will the police catch us, not in a car or SUV. People today need something to bitch about, weither it be ATV's, racism, politics, technology, etc. They can (and will) bitch, but they can't stop us. ATV's are a money making machine. ATV's, accessories, apparel, magazines, TV shows, races, woking quads, etc... all those things require employees to produce. We may not be the majority of the world, but there's enough of us to make a difference. I only see good things for ATVing in the future. Kawasaki took a step foreward, and soon other companies will follow with endorsing racers. Maybe 1 model at first, but eventually it will affect sales and get competitive, just like the aftermarket already is.
