Drag Banshee at Sand Lake saturday

As a 686 raptor owner I've got to hand it to the Shees. I put a whoopin on several of them but I think I saw the fastest quad I've ever seen this weekend and it was a built to the ballz Banshee. It was a no shocks drag frame about 2/3 the width of a stocker. Huge drag pipes and loud enough to hurt my helmeted head. That thing blasted up the bowl in an unbelieveable time. I dont even think he shifted. I've never seen dedicated drag quads run before but I'm definitely impressed. Made my 686 look like a Blaster. I've run against some shees and blew the doors off a couple this weekend but I wouldnt stand a snowballs chance with that. I dont even know what I could do to even get close. Just curious has anyone ever seen a dyno chart on one of the dedicated drag machines? What are they ballpark running? I'm putting close to 60HP and would not even try to match that one. I figure easily 100+HP? If the owner or someone who knows of that machine is here please detail the mods.

You dont have to but would you give me a race report as in what kind of quads and what kind of mods they had that you could beat or lost to? Any 4strokes beat ya? Im almost ready to build my 686 and curious how they run compared to the quads up here. I know there very quick down south

With a purple shee running on the flats and unknown pipes I passed him like he was stuck in fourth. I dragged a 250R that looked like a million bucks with a very large pipe and had no probs. A couple shees with the cool heads, carbs, pipes, porting and extended swingarms were pretty even and it would depend on who got the best starts. A piped YFZ 450 got me once, of course I bogged really bad off the line and the next several times I ate him for lunch. I even got to race a CRF450 dirtbike with a paddle. I'd get him off the line but at the top of the long hill off the beach he'd just get past me where my front tire would be even with his rear. I was getting nailed by a couple of the long swingarm Shees' with unknown mods but the drag machine was unreal.

45, i go down to SL a few times a year, and ive never seen anything modded much beyond a pipe out there. i usually go during the week though to avoid the crowds though, thats probably it. itd be nice to see something like a 686 or some hi end shees. its actually really fun to watch the faster bikes out there drag up the bowl. i wanna check out winchester bay soon. it looks like fun from those pics you have.

Johnnysplat there are always very fast quads at sandlake racing but you must have missed them. Comparing Sand lake to Winchester on the fun factor scale is like comparing a raptor 80 and raptor 660
