Default Craycraft 686 kit??

Hey everyone. I was just looking at the Craycraft 686 kit for the Raptor. I sent an e-mail to Bob Craycraft, and he said that it is been reported to gain 20 and more horsepower from this kit. Is this true any of you 686 riders?? Thanks.

I wouldnt doubt a 20HP gain. Mine's not by Bob but it did wind up well over 20HP more than a stocker. I've never heard anything bad about the Craycraft motors from anyone who has one.

A good 686 like the one Bob offers will put you 20 plus HP over stock and the difference in the way the bike pulls with the 686 kit vs. stock will give you more of a supprise than what you might think; it will feel like a totally different bike; guaranteed. Slim

Default Craycraft 686 kit??

Thanks guys for the input. All I read is good things about the Craycraft 686. How is the quality and durability of the 686 engine?? Has it ever been known to blow or anything?? I am going to take a serious look into this kit.

The higher comp. will be a little harder on the oneway and the jury is still kind of out on the stock con rod but if it's put together right and not run lean it should hold up for quite a while especially if you do the mild 686.

CrayCraft bikes run well and have not heard of any known to blow or break as a few fellows have them here. I would doubt that the 686 kit puts 20 + hp on it though and could bet on it. I have the sparks 686 kit and it Dynos at 53 hp and I believe that stock is like 38 hp right? I havent got beat by a 686 craycraft yet since the kit. If it were that much more it should step away from me pretty quick. If you are maybe talking about "plus the high rev cam and the FCR carbs" then yes I would think you would get 20 hp out of it.
