16 TOOTH RAPTOR SPROCKET
#1
I've got a 16 tooth sprocket for the Raptor but you cant run the chain guard. I knew this before I got it but I was wondering if someone has come up with a guard that will fit? Just checking; if no one has made one I am going to figure out some kind of guard for it. Slim

I went trial riding and did some drag racing with the 15/39 gear this weekend and with good results so I want to go to a 16 and do some first gear start runs with it and see what happens. Slim

With the 15/39 I was on the highway going back to the truck after trailriding Sunday and stretched it out. I would get to 4th and shift to 5th at wot and it would actually start loosing traction with the knobbies and start fish tailing to the point I had to back in and out of the throttle but everytime I got back in it it at a certain point it would do it again so I never stretched it completely out. I cant say how fast I was traveling but I did stay in it real good one time and it never quit pulling but it was so swirly I was taking a big chance and I was shaking when I got off the bike. If I had lost it going that fast its a good chance I wouldnt be here but it was a real rush. If I had to guess how fast it was traveling I would say 90 plus just knowing about the mph it will do in the 1/8th mile and this was probably a good 2 mile run in and out of it. DONT TRY THIS ON THE HIGHWAY; AT LEAST WITH KNOBBIES. I wil do it again to see when the bike will stop pulling but I will have my asphalt tires on next time. Slim

Oh by the way with the 16/39 gear I would have to say 100mph plus. Should be a bigger rush/ with the asphalt tires of course! Anybody ever clocked a Raptor with these two gear setups 15/39 - 16/39 in a long run on pavement. Slim

With a 16 front....I'd say more top end then you would ever need. lol
I know with a 14 my buddy couldn't hit the limiter on his.
I will be getting a 14 soon to race around home with. And keep my 12 and 13 for trail riding.

Slim,
Have you checked out the Pro Design guard? I heard it would let the 15 clear but I don't know about the 16. Might be worth checking into. Hell even if it was close you should be able to shave some off the guard and make it work.
