Are 727 Raptors that fast?

You can spend all the money in the world on a high hp engine, but if you can't put it to the ground its point less. The Craycraft 727 is a torque monster!
You might get away with the stock carbs, but I would ask Bob to set them up.

14mins - Why do you have to get fcr's to feed a 727? Is it that the stock carb bowls will get sucked dry because they can't supply enough fuel through the needle and seat? I mean some people have modified stock carbs to run alkie I don't see why a stocker wouldn't work with a 727 on gas

Imback there is more to it than that. Swing arms, tires and what not. I know banshees that have spent more and not as fast.

Do any of you guys have any experience with the web 685 cam? I am debating on weather to keep the stage II hot cam that I have, or go with the 685 cam. Will there be a significant increase in power by just switching the two cams?

Sandrappy-I personally did not like the 685 cam with stock carbs. When i first put mine in it ran identical to the stage 2 cam. Crafty and i were even (his 686 with stage 2 cam) We made numerous passes and the results were the same. Then we started drilling the main jets above 200 and i started going faster. Drill it one size larger and picked up a lenght, drill again and picked up more, drilled it again and picked up more. We kept doing that until it quit picking up. I gained 6 lengths with the 685 in 600 feet. BUT THEN there was no low or mid with the stock carbs. It was all or nothing. So i went back to the stage 2 cam. The guys that run FCR's do not have those problems. They can dial them in from top to bottom.

yes i have the 685 in mine right now if you are running stock carbs than the stage 2 is better i think in 300ft we took a 686 on alky with the 685 and a 686 on gas with the stage 2 and the stage 2 bike was faster but if you have fcr's you will love this cam its just hard to feed it with stock carbs

With the 685 then it is basicallly like riding a banshee. It's either all or none. I don't really have a problem with that because I ride banshee's all the time. If I could gain 6 bike lenghts over the same setup with a stage II I would think that would make it worth while. I might have to give it a try.

now when mark says he gained 6 bikes that was on a rolling start after drilling the jets for top end running he could not take off from a dead stop his bike would load up and die when trying to take off at a dead stop
