Banshee... The end of an era.

thats what you think, Missouri for example has proposed a law banning All 2 stroke Boats on their waters by 2005. you need to read, go to the us forest service site and see what they have to say all about roadless land and OHV bans.

The intention of my post was not to say that Banshees are no good. Believe me if I could find one in the Chicago area that wasn't smashed to nothing, I'd buy it! I posted this because the handwriting is on the wall. 2strokes are history. We can all say "I'll never give up my 2stroke" and you may in fact do that. I remember saying "I'll never give up my ATC" and I didn't until I wore it out. I still couldn't go to the dealer and buy a new one because they weren't made anymore! If Banshees are discontinued because they are 2stroke does that mean they won't exist? No. You can hang onto your Banshee forever BUT when the dealer stops selling them, then that's it. I have a 1949 Johnson 2 stroke outboard to prove that 2 strokes don't disappear when they're no longer made. As to whether the Raptor is faster than this, that, or the other Quad, that remains to be seen. The fact is that if you look at the hundreds of posts over the last few days people are leaving their Banshees behind for the Raptor. Trends change. Regulations change. Back in 1966 a "California" Dodge Coronet had a hose that ran from the valve cover to the carb to burn the oil fumes coming from the valve covers. That was pretty much the difference between them and the rest of the country. Is California the same now? No. If you are seeing 2strokes banned or discouraged ANYWHERE then it can happen everywhere! And it is obvious that they are far from being encouraged. It may be that, like some have said, they will become the GOTTAHAVE quad instead of the WANNABE quad of the future. That would be great. Maybe then those who bailed on their Banshees will wish they kept them like I wish I kept my ATC250R OR wish they bought one like I should have bought that "66 Hemi Charger!

If people are leaving thier Banshees in droves like you claim, then why can't you find one in the cincinnati area? Probably because you are making a wild, unsubstantiated BS statement. If that were true, then that makes my decision easier. I will Just pick up two of those "unwanted" Banshees for the price of one. I still have my ATC250R and because of proper maintaince it still runs great. I run the heck out of it and you want to know sometheing? It is pretty fast, faster than a 400EX, and almost as fast as a Banshee. I love the looks when I get the drop on a ds650. Don't be caught sleepin at the line, cause playin catchup in the sand and gravel is not fun from what I hear.

I run basically neck & neck in flat sand drags with piped banshee's when I run only a bigger carb, no rev limit, and 38 tooth rear sprocket(40 is stock). 6th gear on the piped banshee can start to pull on me though, but then the drag ends before we max out.
With the full RW stage one kit I beat most piped banshees, although we don't max out.
