The only reason that wiring the fan solid with the ignition could be a problem is that when the bike cools down, the fan shuts off to maintain that temperature and keep the bike at normal operating temp. By disconnecting the fan from the temp sensors, you take away the ability of the bike to further regulate its temp and could be running the bike at a lower operating temp than would be idea.
