RAPTOR -->> 10.4 of ground clearance ?????????
#1
I ordered my RAPTOR friday !!
The dealer told me that the seat is narrow
like a motocross !!
About the 10.4 of ground clearance, I hope it's
at the rear wheel and not at the middle of the
frame, can someone clear this question ??
If it's at the rear wheel, how do they
put the sprocket ?? I know with a shaft, you can
move it higher, but a sprocket ???
Thanks in advance !!
I realy like this forums because we can have information before everyone else ??

Why there is saying 10.4 in.
Ground clearance is always the lowest point
on the quad !!
Bombardier has two ground clearance !!
GROUND CLEARANCE
Front & under engine 11 in. (279 mm)
Rear axle 4.75 in. (121 mm)
They should give the rear axle also !!

Why do you think Yamaha put that ground clearence spec out? Because it sounds good and they want to sell you a quad. Think about what you just did. You bought a quad that you haven't even seen yet. So we know that Yamaha hasn't been totally honest with at least one spec. What if the motor is not very strong? It will smoke everything out there could mean everything in its class. Maybe it is in a class of it's own. By the way, how are the brakes on that new machine? Oh, that's right, you don't know. Does it have good weight balance? Are those the same crummy shocks as on my Banshee? Does it have the same air filter setup as my Banshee? Do you get my point? When I buy a machine, I want to know what I'm getting.

Just to answer a couple of those questions..
The lastest report in one of the "big" quad mags, just answered some of the questions you provided.
The website says "at' the engine (clearance). So does the mag review. The airfilter and chain dislikes, that are currently bugging Banshee owners, are not on the Raptor. They have developed new tech. for these areas, from feedback and research. So, different chain and airfilter setup. Improved ! There was no "trickery to sell" for the clearance spec.. For Gods sake. 10.4 at the sprocket isnt even imaginable to anyone that knows any better... plus all you have to do is read. Yes, testing reports "will" bring the facts of other areas...but its Yamaha remember... they know what they are doin..!! This aint JoeBlow Inc..from BFE

I would believe that but Yamaha never did one thing to make the Banshee a better machine. It would be very easy to correct just the maintaince issues, but they never did,, on any of thier sport machines. Come on it is Yamaha.

Also, why did they put that ground clearance spec out since ground clearance is typically measured at the drive sprocket/skidplate? Isn't that where it matters, or is a 7 inch rock not going to bend your brake rotor because it fits under your engine. As far as the magazine "tests", do they have production units to ride. Please let us know, the whole ATV world is waiting. How does it handle? Is it "tippy"? Will I still wait for one to arrive at my dealer? You bet.

Hey weibz, I just went to the yamaha raptor "technology" page. Take a look at the air filter setup. It looks like the exact same craptacular set up currently in use on the banshee. Better add 100 bucks to your budget for a pro design setup. What a bunch of morons you are for believing all the hype. Good night losers.
