I don't understand why they would make a quad that big, I can understand it would be good for racing, but why would you need a quad that big and fast??? Why would u guys buy one that big?, just get a warrior or banshee. Anyways I like the looks of the lights.

 

I can see the 660 would be a plus in the dunes. But as far as most people buying one is just so they have one. Kind of like a Banshee. Where I ride Banshees mostly hang out on the strip and race people. Why ??? Because except for sand (none around here) they aren't nearly as good on trails as other sport quads. But if Banshee guys get a kick out of beating on 300EX's so be it I guess. It's whole ego thing for "most" guys. They never had a cute girl, fast car etc. So they need to get at least a fast quad. A quad they can afford, as opposed to a real car or truck, or HOUSE! Like all the ****s that ride crotch rocket bikes. They bought them just to get girls. Then you see these 23+ yr old guys hanging out at Taco Bell picking up 16 yr old girls on their CBR's etc. I think some people will have the need for a Raptor, most will just buy one to beat on 400EX's in a drag though. Kinda of a waste of $6500 just to do that, but believe me they will line up at the door for a chance to whip their friends 400EX. As for me, I'd rather wait on the Cannondale. It seems like a much more sensible choice. But I guess no-one will know until all the reviews are done. Of course you can't always believe what Dirtwheels etc. says anyway!
I just can't get over how much the Raptor "resembles" an old Tecate in the front. Maybe Yamaha thought everyone forgot about those by now??? I just hope the "goofballs" that buy a Raptor that really don't "need" one can ride better than their Banshee counterparts that didn't need a Banshee either. They would be better suited for a Badger. Anyway it looks like big 4 strokes are a sign of things to come.

Umm. I just ordered one. Umm. I have a fast 91 Gt Mustang. Umm. I own 2 homes. Umm. I have a girlfriend of 6 years. Umm. Im 26. I like fast things and nice things. I earn them. What other reasons should there be ?? Boys with there toys is all it is. (my parents are poor and always have been.)

Im just playin with ya a little. Stereotypes that involve me always make me speak up..lol. I like Jumpin and Hillclimbin...this is my quad. I dont race ( at least on the track anyways..haha).

Most people seem to forget the Raptor is prolly gonna be much faster than the 400ex through the woods. Why? because unlike the banshee the raptor will make awesome low and mid range power and a better top end that will be more than double the 400ex. And it ain't no bigger than a 400ex except for the engine size. I want one cuz it will be good at basically everything, be it dunes, trails, desert or mx.

 

Well, it is apparent that you don't think quick before you speak. Banshees are not the best in the trail because it's a 350 twin twostroke, not cause it's too fast....The raptor sounds like it might be the best all around quad out there...plenty of low-end grunt, plent of rev and speed..it's not huge like the bombadier..the demensions weren't much larger in most aspects than the 400ex..and if the raptor is too fast for trails, what will the cannondale be? If it's like they say it will be it will be pretty fast also...so..I don't understand your bust on the raptor..you should be happy..I mean, come on, a 300ex? A blaster can beat a 300...so..that's all I'm saying..the raptor sounds like the best all around quad made yet.

My friend has 2 Banshees I know what the are all about. Besides I'm not talking bad about the Banshee OR Raptor, mainly just the people that ride them. You know, the guy that always got picked last in gym class to be on the team. One way or another he has to finally be "top dog" even if it's gonna cost him $6,500+

Is it possible, just maybe, that WE Banshee(possible Raptor owners) like having the fastest quad available? I have never had a quad before the age of 29, so does that make me a bad person? I guess so. Because I spent 4 years in the USMC, Went to college for 4 years and can finally afford a quad, let alone the Bad Boy Banshee that is the FASTEST quad produced(for now) So according to Andrew, I am either ignorant, trying to pick up underage girls, or just trying to be the man. Hmm, nice wide paintbruish there... Then again, I guess if we were sitting side by side(we'd have to be sitting, since the Polaris would never actually be beside me in a race..) and the OF AGE woman came up to us, you'd be the odd man out, jealousy is not a good thing... Women like speed, looks, and winners!

I think ATVing is a mellow sport compared to snowmobiling where the smallest sled are 340cc twins that do 60Mph and the larger 800cc triples are over 100 hp and go 120mph.Snowmachine maker do not seem to care about future law suits like ATV's do and keep making them faster and more powerful every year so whats the differance with ATVs?
