i heard that if you take the spark arrestor out of an aftermarket pipe you will get more power... Is this true? i recently took the exhaust off of my bike to remove the spark arrestor, once inside i didn't know what the spark arrestor was... Sould someone tell me what as spark arrestor is and how to remove it from an FMF powercore 4 exhaust?

 

Makes it Louder lol, you will probly get a little more power.

yo man, aftermarket exhausts are loud enough. Unless you do strickly track or dunes i guess, i wouldnt make it ANY louder.

not sure what type the fmf has

it is whatever obstructs the free flow

my gyt-r has a screen type (just a piece of screen mesh) to stop sparks

some use the stackable disc-type

if you can stick anything thru your exhaust,,,,you have no spark arrester

With the spark arrestor out, you know that you arent legal to ride on any public recreational area right? And believe me, they will check, even if your pipe says usfs approved.

 

My friend got a 1200 dollar fine for not having a spark arrestor...
