Wolverine Reliability?
#1
I'm trying to decide between a Rancher and Wolverine. I like the Wolverine because it's sportier and lighter, but have heard that it is sort of fragile and breaks easily. I've been reading some old posts on here and a lot of people say that they've never had a single problem with them. Which is it? Thanks.

Bought mine new in 95,ran it ragged, went to both Silver Lake and Little Sahara dunes, the only thing I've done is freshened up the motor, because it had so many hard miles on it over the years. I have to say,for a full time 4x4, it is very sporty, and with the Warn 424, it is even better. Just do your maintenence, and it will run a very long time.

I've had my Wolvy for 5+ years with no Internal engine, transmission, clutch or differential problems. The only things I have had to replace is wheel bearings, brakes and U joints, the usual part that wear on any machine that is run in mud and water offroad.
Some of my friends have Wolvys. One has had 3 Wolvys since 95. So I have been around and seen yhese machines since they first came out. None of the one's I know of have had any internal problems at all. I know I may be a little bias because I own one but I really think they are a very reliable machine,.
I really have not been around the Ranchers much but I do know it was hard to beat the 300 4x4 Honda for reliability.

The only thing I sell for thoes two quads are tires, brakes and Warn selects. Not a thing brakes on them. If you want the quad for hard work get the Rancher. For play and lite work get the Wolverine. It would be hard to find a better quad.

I was just a little worried because I was looking on places like Epinions.com and people were saying they were fragile and stuff. Are the Wolverines as hard to shift as the Warrior?

As far as shifting goes, I think they are average. Yes, you have to put effort into the shifting, but I wouldnt call it difficult. I have never ridden a warrior, but I would bet it would be close to the same.
