686 Dial a Jet
#1
Has anyone ever used a Dial a Jet on a Big bore 686 or even a High Comp. stock bore for the top end fuel needs?
I would think this would work good as long as your getting the fuel to the float bowl. Any opinions on these? Has anyone tryed these on anything?

I think its a good idea. From what I understand it pretty much like and adjustable power jet. Deffinately a good idea if you plan on running methanol in the stock carbs, or if you have big jets in your stock carbs now.

edit: I sent it...
edit: n/m I found it.
Those two PMs I sent you guys aren't going to make much sense after I looked at the dial-a-jet again. Either one (that I was talking about) should be good. They look almost identicle....kinda.

i installed one on my warrior (as a test befor trying to F with the dual carbs of the Raptor). installation was a piece of cake. they give you a fitting for the float bowl and you simply add a fuel line (comes with heat shielding) and run it around the carb boot ,,,to the actual dial-a-ajet. (which is an actual jet with a small black box attached which is the Dial ) the jet sits aprox 2-3" away from carb into the carb boot.
my buddy races superbikes and i quess these are pretty popular there do to all the traveling at diffrent altitudes they do for racing around the country and world.
Thunder products is the actual maker (www.thunderproducts.com) and you can buy them from Rockymountainatv
yes they work as advertised and i'm amazed more people have'nt jumped on this simple product. it's reffered to as the poor mans fuel injection. improves throttle response.
my first real test came last winter on the ice...Warrior was bogging on the top end. i simply pulled over...backed the set screw off and "click, click". reset the screw. and in 3min. i was rejetted... perfectly.

I have not tryed it yet but I may soon. Does any one know if the raptor set up actually goes in the carb or do you cut a hole in the intake boot on the back side of the carb? I would think if the dial a jets go into the rubber boot there could be some sealing issues with that.
