works shocks

I was checking out the works shocks for the raptor, and they seem pretty cheap compared to other aftermarket shocks. Are they are good deal? Or are they cheap because they aren't that good? Thanks.

Depends on how serious you are into going big or MX. I've ridden a 'shee fully equipped w/ works triple rates and then hopped on a 'shee w/ elkas all around and the difference was like going from stock to works. I have also ridden a rappy w/ works but I didn't fell comfortable enough on it to really push the envolope but It was still a very nice improvement from stock. There are many of folk who have works on there rappy's and ride mx regulary... its all about the benjamins.

I've got Works Triple Rates on my Rappy and haven't had any problems. They hold up great in the desert and still feel great after 35-45 miles of abuse time after time. (Not abuse from the desert...abuse from hauling my fat-azz around the whole race)....LOL

Are you guys going with the stock shaft (1/2" I think) or upgrading to the bigger shaft (5/8" I think)?
Are most of you going with the Works Steelers?
I would like to upgrade my Wife's Raptor. I think she would really be happy with a better shock set-up.

I am recently rebuilding my 250 R and am considering works triple rate shocks. The guys from JD Performance, where I got my new A-Arms, said Elka's are way better because the have sag which Works don't. They said Elka's technology is first rate and the best deal for the money, 330 for works triple rates w/no res and 530 for Elka's Triple rates w/ no res. If you have the money go with Elka's, I don't have much cash so I am going with Works
