So is everyone needing to jet up with the stage 1 ? What kind of break in do you do ? or is a break in really
needed ? Are you needing to re-adjust the valves after like an hour of use with the new cam? Any other things i should know about the install procedure ? I run a 03 raptor with a k&n air filter , air box lid on , Dynojet kit with 142 and 144 and no spark arrestor. Thanks in advance for the replies.

The break in they say is to not drop below 3000 rpms for about an hour? Why? I don't know. There's a coating on the cam that needs to be worn off thats basicaly what the break in is all about. After this is worn off you need to check the valve clearances again to make sure they are still in spec. You probably won't notice a big differnce in performance though. Maybe a bit quicker rev and maybe just a tad more useable power at a few hundred rpms higher than you used to. I'd wait and install the cam with a piston when possible. jmo

when I got my sparks cam I asked them about break in on cams and they told me it's not needed. I would however check the valves after the first trip. I never broke in my cam just let the rings set on the piston.
