Handlebar reverse switch.

Take a trip to a Yamaha dealer or find a friend with a raptor and investigate the reverse mechanism... see what the end of the cable looks like compared to your wolvy as well as where on the motor it is. Take a tape measure and do some quick measurements to see if the cable would be too short or way too long. Also check out how long the actuating arm is that the cable end connects to on the tranny.
I hope it all checks out for ya.
And let me know the results, would ya?
Good Luck.

I've been looking at how those are made. Really pretty simple. I believe I can make one and save the $60. The the handlebar mount and the lever would be really easy. I think the hard part would be finding a cable long enough.

I've never used that thing on my Wolv. When I got it, the reverse acuator thingy was out of adjustment so I could just go from first down to reverse - I thought that was a lot better than messing with the thing anyways, so it has stayed that way. The only disadvantage is you need to know what gear you are in at all times (I can always tell but others may not aka my mom) so that you don't slam yourself down from first into reverse in one of those situations when you need a lower gear and you just don't have it but you go looking. I did that one time, in West Virginia ... dangerous situation indeed. Climbing a long steep hill the Wolv just was boggin some and I slammed it down once, looking for a lower gear .. well that was reverse and the trip backwards squiggling around on the side of the hill next to the huge dropoff before I got it into control was not at all fun. I think I had to change my Levis that day....
Just an FYI ... I think you can safely eliminate the reverse actuation by taking it out of adjustment and riding it that way. I prefer it more than messing with the **** anyways.
Also, finding neutral can be more difficult than I'd like ... sometimes worse than others. Thought it was only fair to tell you the good with the bad
