What do you guys use to clean your boots after a day of riding in mud? I just don't want to shrink the leather.

Dude, their made to get wet and muddy. Wash them off with a hose and a brush and then follow up with some 409.

Believe it or not, I use Westley's whitewall cleaner and a stiff plastic bristle brush. I have black Thors, and it cleans em up nice and fast.

Be careful with the Westley's Whitewall Cleaner.

Back 20 years ago, a Buddy of mine cleaned his Dad's white vinyl top on a Toronado with it. He even kept it ArmorAlled afterwards. It looked great for about 2 or 3 months. Then the Westley's caused the vinyl to start drying out. The end result...it had so many cracks in the vinyl that it looked like a rear car window after it has been hit with a hammer.

I know you're using it on leather, just some food for thought.

Armor-all will dry leathers...etc

To clean your boots use a mild soap and a brush

Its a great idea to seal; your boots...use mink oil etc

DO NOT dry them in the sun...let them air dry in a shady spot

I have seen the cracked vinyl top thing before, I knew someone who used floor wax on one. When they put Armor All on it later, CRACK!

Been cleaning the boots for 3 years with the Westley's, no problem. I don't use a ton of it, just a couple squirts.

I didn't realize ArmolAll would do that. I thought it was supposed to do just the opposite, keep vinyl flexible. Come to think about it, my sister bought a boat a few years back and the dealer told her not to use ArmorAll on the interior, but I just dimissed it. Must be something to the drying out thing.

Soap, water and a soft brush, or alittle simple green
