I'm not sure. I didn't notice that on mine. I'll have to check into it after work.

BTW - how do you like those ITP 589s? I'm thinking of getting a set and was wondering how they do in the mud and on hard pack. I'm looking at 10x26 for the front and 12x26 rears. What do you have?

Wait a sec... that "gas" gauge you're talking about - it's not the engine overheat light is it? Just thought I'd ask. I'll check mine and let you know.

If you read through the specs on Yamaha's site, only the Grizzly has a digital fuel gage.

No, I checked, he's right. I can see the same thing on my '04 Kodiak 450. It has never lit up, but it's all the way to the right on the lcd screen. I'm not sure what the deal is...

Default Question for 2004 kodiak 450 owners

Hmmm? Since my wife has a 04 400 kodiak and i have a grizzly i would say you got the digital dash(fuel gage not hooked up) from the grizz, and the intank gas gauge from the 400 kodaik, yamaha does do sum weird stuff, as i am learning since purchasing ours a month ago.

Um yeah...... I suggest going into the dealership where you bought it. i want to be there so I can laugh at you guys. The whole speedo, setup with the digital display is taken straight from the grizzly 660. therefore, the kodiak 450 does not have the digital gas gauge. Thats probably why they put the gas needle gauge on the plastic gas tank.

I know the digital read out is there. But the kodiak 450 doesnt have the digital bars light up! I dont know why but i dont think yamaha wanted the kodiak 450 to have digital bars for gas and thats why they have the gas needle gauge.
