Default Kodiak Skid plates

Lookin for some reviews from anyone whose got them...Was lookin at the Armordillo but they want 119 for the bottem and then another 69 for the a arms. Ive read a few times that the aluminum ones get bent up and nicked up when you hit rocks, they say the armordillo are more flexible and dont retain any bends. So what does everyone use?...And wheres the best prices I can get on them?

The factory plastic skidplate on my 2003 kodiak 450 was 1/2 ripped off before it was even broken in. When rock crawling if a rock pushes up on the skid plate it tears the heads of the bolts through the plastic. Bust out the zip-ties!! I ordered a steel unit. Hope this helps.

Deuce.

Ive seen the prm, how do they hold up?....Ive heard they are alot thicker than the regular ones. Do they nick up bad on rocks? Ive heard the thing to watch for on aluminum is if they hit something, they have a tendency to nick up and bend because theres no give like the plastic ones.

Hello all
When I had my 93 kodiak I purchased the armidillo skid plate. It worked really good and seemed to be very tough. However there are not alot of rocks in my area though so I can't comment of that. It was very easy to install and it seemed to cover the bottom very well. I will likely get another one once my skid plate gets ripped on my new kodiak

Not sure. I'd try e-mailing or calling one of the manufacturers and get the specs from them. Don't tell them you're trying to make one though, they may not give you the specs then.

likely the easiest way would be to bring your buddy the original plate. Look underneath to see if you see parts that could be better protected and go from there.

Armadillo skid plate question? Does it go from the front of the quad all the way to the back? I have heard it does. If so, I wish I had bought it. I bought the one Highlifter offered but it is just the bash plate and front differential cover. The rest isnt even offered. It is diamond plate but it cost me 100 bucks by itself. I was a bit dissapointed that it didnt cover the belly.
