Default yfz lug nuts suck

The nuts on the wheel lugs on the yfz are so crappy. I have one that is already stripped and i cant get the damn thing off. I think they used the sh*tiest grade possible when picking them out. Anyone have any tips on getting a stripped nut off?

try using vice-grips to get it off...i got rid of mine in the first week..if you go to a tire shop ..tell then you want crome lug nuts for a GEO METRO there about 4 bucks and they fit on the 450..and the nice part is you can use the small size on a 4 way tire iron to take them off..

alright thanks. I will try the vice grips. I think i might try to heat it up first with a blow torch, ive heard this works good.

Take a smaller sized socket, and hammer it on to the shreaded lug. Way better than vice grips!!!

In hi torque applications like lub nuts, always use a 6 point socket rather than a 12 or 24. A 6 point will hardly ever strip on a nut if its the right size. But for your problem, Kintama's solution sounds best.

I stripped the lug bolts on my 300ex about 7 months ago. finding new lug nuts/bolts were damn near impossible, luckily, our local atv/dirtbike shop found them in about a week, i just got them last month, i couldnt ride it forever cause they were so hard to find. GL with yours.
