I have one and love it. I have checked it against a truck and a grizzly and it is within 2-3 mph of either. I wouldn't take for mine.

You can get an electronic tach from Yamaha.

I just saw the Yami Tach... Looks kinda cheezy, wonder if it works? I'd give it a shot for $45 but there is not much info on it like how big it is, where to mount it or, if it has a light to see it at night or, does it have a enough rev room for the Raptor? (eg..9999k RPM might not cut it)

I have the unit like it, but only an hour meter. I just stuck in on the fender crack where it meets the gas tank cover. Fits perfect. I can take a picture if needed

It's a great way to keep up with oil changes etc. I put mine on the day I got the bike.

I'll be getting a Trailtech soon too

I have the TrailTech logo handle bar clamp with the speedometer. It is a quality peice! The computer(speedometer) allows you to program two bikes to it. What I mean by that is I have it programmed to tell me my speed while riding with my dirt tires, and another setting to tell me my speed with my front sand tires on (the cpu measures speed with a little magnet that installs to the brake). This way you dont have to reprogram it when you go to the dunes.

I bought mine from RockyMountainATV.com and got a decent deal on it.

Also.... TrailTech the company has GREAT customer service. I had to send back my handlebar clamp becuase it was scratched when I purchased it. The people I talked to on the phone were very courteous adn helpful. Definitly a great investment! I called them back later and they sent me about 25 decals!

What a great accessory to inquire about. Its worth every penny.

Good luck!

Hackerhunter, where does that magnet actually go on the brake? And does the clamp that hold the computer weigh much? Thanks in advance.

I've found Trailtech to be a good company, with helpful employees. I'm told their current speedometer setups are top notch units, which stand up well to typical ATV conditions.

I spoke to them recently, as I'm interested in a speedometer for my YFZ, but more importantly, I'd like a tachometer. I'm told that they're scheduled to have a new unit out in January-February that will include a tachometer, so I'm going to hold off buying one for now.

After talking to them, I was surprised to find out that their main location is about 2 miles from my front door, which is especially strange since I live out in the country.
