Default Parking brake block off with cooling fins!?!?

Do ya'll think they work or is it just something to make extra $$ on? I bought one the other day, it was more than the regular flat ones. I got because it was the only one they had in stock.
The last couple of rides I've been on my rear brakes have overheated to the point of having no pedal. I'm going to try the new block off plate before the next ride. I guess I'll find out for sure. I was just wondering what everyone thought.

Most of em have an o-ring that would block most of the heat from it anyhow.

I would change the brake fluid and rebleed the lines if you are having that much trouble. Look into a steel braded brake line and there will be a world of difference.

Ridley can you safely change to dot 5 brake fluid? Use it in my H-D. I really don't think my brakes are dragging. This trail we came off last night is down hill for probably 2-2.5 miles with a lot of water breaks and other obstacles that you have to slow down for. I was using my rear brakes more than I should have been. The fade problem has happened before. Usually when traveling quick on long down hill streches. Not a major problem when they cool off there fine. But i do need to check everything when I put the block off plate on. I really don't see the cooling fins being a big help.
Thanks Guys
