I also was wondering if I should order a jet kit? Currently I have a White brothers R4 full exhaust. A K&N air filter. I just moved the clips in the Carbs. Runs good now but with the cam Should I Change the main?
Thanks For help

Fast440,

Which 650 cam are you using? XR650L or R?

Choky,

I would only use the Stage 1 in a stock engine. It produces more torque and HP all through the rpm range once a pipe and ket kit are installed.

Big,

MSRP is $149.95 for the camshaft. Nothing else is needed for the install other than some Yamabond 4. You're looking at about a 10% increase at peak for the Stage 1. It develops more HP and torque everywhere in the rpm range with a well set-up machine.

The stage 1 is a drop in cam. It will put you in front of the piped and jetted crowd
\
will they give you better OVERALL power or just top end?

The Stage 1 will. The Stage 2 is good for mid and up on a stock bore, stock compression engine. With a 416 engine, it becomes very good everywhere.

Hot cams- I went back to the stage 2 after a 2 week try of the web 685. Still smiling. I was on Bob's sons raptor saturday with 35mm FCR's into a custom intake. The right intake makes a world of difference. After i got off the raptor Bob's son came over and checked the avenger 2 EGT. Said i was shifting at 8800 rpms. I was still making good power on top. Very impressed. I felt (butt dyno) the stage 2 was making power up there. I thought the stage 2's peaked at 8200 rpm?
