I don't think the banshee is going to go up in value all that much there production run has only lasted the past 13 years or something like that compared to the 250R's 3 or 4 years. meaning there is sure a lot of banshees out there. don't get me wrong I own a 00' bashee and I just don't think its going to be that great of an investment once I ready to get rid of it

Yamaha hasnt released any HP numbers yet. The only real judge of the Horses of the engine, is to compare to the Bike it came from. Yamaha did state, however, that the Raptor660R engine puts out more horses than the bike (45). Estimating in the ballpark of 46. Think about this...a Blaster can zip around pretty quick, but it has about 12 H.P. (sounds funny actually..lol). Anyway, the motor, although from the dual sport bike, is only sharing the cylinder head from the original. It has been designed for the Raptor. Since tweakin the motor to redline at 9000 rpm (Sport 400, 5600) , it goes to say the HP has increased. Im very anxious for the tests and reports.
Ahhh, and then theres the mod'd out Raptor. Who knows what that puppy will push.
I currently own a mod'd 99 Sport 400, and its fast and I love it. I just cant resist 660 cc's, and almost "100" lbs lighter. Ill make a prediction for the first testing of HP and Speed. 48 H.p. (rear wheel)and 81mph "stock". Fastest production quad made, fastest acceleration, fastest 100 + 200 yard drags. Handling = Better than expected - running with the 400ex by Rating. Jumping = handles with the best of em, easy to control. Cornering= Sufficient at the track, corners as good as any.
Somehow, depending on the Mag that does it, the 250 frikkin R, and 400ex will come out on top for handling, and track conditions. . ( ya know, its Honda), but I predict the overall report on this quad will be Awesome and with the power and aggility, should be able to win some races - even at the track. Especially when mod'd. GNCC will probably see these rippin the woods up. (i hope).
Please - no flamin me, this was "my own" prediction. I hope Im not far off. Im stoked.

I think you have the right attitude. It always depends on who is testing, where they are testing, how they are testing. For years I have watched Dirt Wheels and the rest conduct thier totally unscientific and arbitrary testing. The horse power numbers, in order for them to mean anything need to be conducted on the same dyno, on the same day, by the same person. One last thing, from my limited experience with circle track engines, the dyno was used as a tuning tool, not as a comparative tool. We used it to find proper ingition timing and jetting, etc, to make the engine perform at its peak. Numbers don't really mean a whole lot once the engine is in the machine.

It has a 49 inch wheel base, how much do you think you need? And I guess when they sell such a big quad they expect expierienced riders that can lean into turns to keep the quad steady instead of little wieners that like to whine about something dumb like the wheelbase. GET SOME MEAT ON THOSE BONES AND LEARN HOW TO LEAN.
