Default ? for toomey owners

Ive installed the t-5 last weekend and finally took it out this weekend! First the rubber type hose for a pipe clamp melted to pieces burnt my f"kin pants on the pipes now there is a hole bunch of black hard crap on the pipes and won't come off anyone else have this problem with the clamps or know how to get the stuff off the pipes? Any help thanks!!

03shee, The stock or rubber clamps su%k at the very least! spend the $ and buy good ones that are aluminum with the rubber inside them. I'm also working on how to get the black stuff that melted to the pipes off. It's my G/F's Bike and now I'm kinda in trouble.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]

We ran into this problem on my old shee. I ended up buying the aftermarket clamps for it right off the bat.

i used the ones that toomey sent, theres nuttin left of them. But I also have new billet clamps just figured id use those up first. guess i was wrong!!! Atleast I know now that im not the only one with this problem thanks!!

Are you sure you're not running lean? Maybe you're pipes are getting too hot from that?
