Hmm.....I've heard that 727's really bust the *** off piped yfz's.

I'm watched a 680 beat a yfz with no lid or baffle.

so i wouldn't think it would take much work on a rappy.

I've only raced one YFZ with my 727 so far. It's my buddies. It has a DMC Alien pipe, no lid, and a GYTR jet kit. On knobby's, he stays with me till mid 3rd gear, and then I pull away steadily. On paddles, in sand, its no contest. I pull away from the start and never look back. In a 300 foot drag, I've got about 7-10 lengths on him. Also in 300 feet, he's almost tapped out in 5th gear. And I'm only in mid 4th gear.

I haven't raced any over more than a couple of hundred feet. In short turn-to-turn drags, it takes everything my 12:1 Stage 2 with FCRs can deliver just to keep up. I start reeling them back in about the middle of 3rd gear but then it's time to turn and we don't want to talk about those differences:-)

Im no expert my any means but a lot of what you all are talking about has a lot to do with the rider.

For example, I was hanging with a stock Raptor in 300' with my slightly modded P650 one day. "IF"!!! the guy pulls out in first gear. Someone opened their big mouth and said, " you need to pull out in 3rd gear". After the guy started doing that he killed me by 15-20'.

After seeing that, I know for a fact that the success of drag racing with a manual clutch has a lot to do with the rider.
