this i need to know...YFZ or TRX? 1st i'll never buy another 1st year quad again. so that said i have some waiting to do in regards to the TRX. but i'm wondering if Yamaha has plans to up the YFZ to it's true potential or offfering some kind of performance kit? anyone hear anything yet...even rumors are welcomed.

surprisingly, the rumor mill has actually been fairly accurate in the past.

 

I bet they will, ama up'd the cc in the classes to 450 right after it came out didnt they?


Im in the same boat, I am definitely getting one of those 2, next year after the yamaha first year blues fade away. But I will be seeing red if I get the Honda and it has 1st year problems.

 

Exactly 007...that is where my question stems from. if they up the cc's...why not bring then YFZ up to it's fighting weight. i'm sure any plan to do so would be tight lipped...so as not to adversly effect current sales. i would imagine news of this nature would be released when sales have been or are close to exhausted

 

Well, the only reason that Yamaha decreased the displacement was to comply with the standards so I donno why they wouldn't bump it up to compete with the new Honda. Makes perfect sense to me.

 

if i worked for Yamaha...i'd release that news right as the TRX starts showing up in Dealer showrooms. or wait for the first shootout in DW. you know they're gonna say these quads are so close that the rider will make the diffrence. i'd wait for that statement then release the full YFZ450 to help people make their decision.

do you guys really think 10ccs is going to make much difference? Besides, the honda will be slower and handle worse but be cheaper and more reliable.

 

if you are going to get a honda why wait?? im sure they r&d'd the hell out of the trx450 and it will be bulletproof. you maybe taking a risk with the yami, I sure love mine though ..... ill take the risks for a ride like this one

the extra 10cc's is probably worth 1hp, I dont know about you ... but I wouldnt wait a year for 1 hp. I like riding now

 

you know schwendi...i felt just like you did. then one day, someone posted "my 01 raptor tranny blew" and there was a large "clunk" sound. that sound was all the new 01 raptors owners (including myself) jaws dropping and hitting the ground simotaneously.
