Default Hot Grizzly

Went riding my "new" (less than 8 hrs)2004 660 Grizzly today. When I got home, I noticed the pipes out of the cylinder was glowing pretty red. I rode this bike approx 45 mins at less than 8mph the whole time. Is this normal? I also noticed that the machine had a "ticking" and vibration at less around 1/4 throttle that cleared up once I gained a few RPM's. I'm new to these machines and just want to know if these are normal. Thanks

My guess is that you are overheating from riding too slow...just like a car is more likely to overheat in a traffic jam. You don't have the benefit of wind helping to cool the radiator. You may want to remove the side panels so heat won't build up so much.

they do run hot when riding real slow for long periods. sounds like you were running real hot though!
what is your altitude? might be running real lean. it is new, so tell the dealer, and maybe they can dial in your carb settings for higher altitude, if so needed.
other than that, check your antifreeze, and remove your side panels if your riding long distances real slow.
