Dfitz- Since you do not like the thought of race gas how about a additive to boost octane. Torrco is a product that will raise your octane. You will not find it on the shelf at auto part stores but can order direct from them. Works great and i think it runs 12.95 a can. It has the mixing instructions on the back. That way you only mix what you need.

It's not that I don't like race fuel I just didn't to mess with it. I have three other quads and I didn't want have different gas for them. But again the more I think about it the better it sounds. I pmed Bob about the stock carb mods, no answer yet, I guess I'll call. Thanks for the info.

Wow thats a little higher than my area. I guess the farther you go away from Sacramento the more it gets in California. I pay 4.50 or 4.25 Unical 110. I wouldnt run anything less.

Dang it seems like a few months back when I went to Lake Tahoe the fuel got cheap as I went north. I must have been hitting the good spots. Was that 110 octane?

lowbowtie- I do not think klotz will up the octane like torrco will. On the back of the torrco can it tells you how to mix 91-93 octane fuel to 100, 104 and 107 octane. Most of the stuff at auto parts stores that claims to raise octane 3 to 4 points is more like 93.4 and 93.3 and is a joke. Do a search on torrco and read it. I do not use it any longer but i did for a long time in my 13-1 motor.

I just stopped by the 76 station by my house on the way home and they're getting $6 a gallon for 100 and 110.

Yeah I'll be looking around for sure at that price, VP may be the same or a little cheaper and a better fuel.
