I am considering Craycraft to build a motor as well. My only concern is I like to deal with a local engine builder for big builds like splitting cases and 105mm bores, so Kenz is still a possibility. Upon speaking with some local people in Arizona about stroker crankshafts it turns out that Trinity in California commissioned CrankWorks to build a 6mm stroker for the Raptor. With a 105mm piston this is at the 800cc mark as well. There are more of these cranks available from my understanding now that the initial job was finished. Two have gone to Arizona are will be fitted to Raptors within the next month or so.

Seems like everyone is really stepping it up. Hope to be part of that program in the future. Can anyone from Craycraft confirm the stroke on the new crank? Thank you so much.

 

I have heard good things about Kenz Cycle,and Also Robertson biulds great motors.

These Engine biulders are pushing each other and that is good for all of us.

it's funny,3 months ago a couple of u craycraft guy's said bigger is not better! now that is all u guys are talking about. i think they said "the head can not flow enough" and "my 686 will make just as much as a big bore". u guys crack me up!

 

I also remember everyone saying that a 770 was to large, and the head could not flow enough unless you spend lots of money to hack apart the head to redesign it to flow more. So is that what all these huge displacement machines are doing now? Or can you flow enough for large displacements with a stock head that is ported?

He said that a 686 with the works will be a little bit faster or just as fast as the 730, and i said that what i was thinking about,i dont want to go to a 730..

I think the biggest difference in a stock bore "monster" and a BIG BORE monster is that the big bore will have the advantage on a long steep hill, but if the stock bore can be matched with the right combo,and rider. its advantage(more revs) which translates into more wheel speed, will hold its own agianst the big bore.

If I were to want the ultimate dune quad. I would want a PAMI 760. But we have seen time and time again, that BIG CC's doesnt mean your going to get to the top first.(Sparks has proven that) The right Combo,and Rider means MORE in a hill shoot than H.P.

Same goes for flat drags.
