For the next Craycraft build ...signature686 or 727?
I am rebuilding at the beggining of the year and was wondering what i should get and what will produce the most power with the basics, new rod,new carbs,....
I have the rest done already so i need just a few things to upgrade...I heard that you can make a 686 just as fast as the 727..thanks in advance..
I am running the mild set up now!!lol

No clue.
But I guess you should get the 686 with the 35mm FCR's. Maybe get the stage 2 cam(if you haven't already) and either a 12:1 or 13:1 piston.
Or you could do like Ernie660R and get the 39mm FCR's and 13:1 piston. They say it smokes.

If you've got the cash, why not go for the bleeding edge? I'm thinking of upgrading just to get a better rod and the crank balanced. There is more power than I can handle in the Signature 686 (I don't have the SS valves) but if I were pulling it apart, I'd go with the bigger bore. My Dad taught me to always buy the best, you'll only cry once.
